The Iowa football program received its ninth known verbal commitment on Friday when defensive back Malik Rucker of New Hope, Minnesota pledged to the program.

According to Scout.com, Rucker drove down from Minnesota with his father to surprise Kirk Ferentz with his commitment, in person.

Scout & Rivals rate Rucker as a three-star player and he could play cornerback or safety at the college level. He is listed at 6-0/175.
