    Penn State now on foodstamps

60MM in fines from the NCAA and you know the B1G is going to withold revenue sharing or at least a significant part of it.

Delaney needs to rebalance the leagues now.

I'll now accept apologies from all the people who said I was wrong in wanting a natural east/west split of the divisions.

That is 1 year of football revenue.

An extra bite would have said that no negative financial impact on any other sports can be implemented because of this fine (read football only)

I was thinking about this today. I think trading Michigan State and Indiana would balance out the two divisions pretty well. MSU already has a good spirited rivalry with Wisconsin and Ohio State and would be a good third team to act as a foil.

It hurts no doubt, but far from food stamps.

I agree, this could of been much harsher and will not slow down PSU TOO much. The bowl ban is the hardest thing to make players think twice. They will figure out creative ways to get around the 10 scholies a year setback.

Umm it's 20 schollies a year after this year.

We're talking about 40% of scholarships over a 4 year period of time. Not only are they losing those scholarships but other recruits are going to realize, "Hey they don't have enough scholarships to field a good team" and will likely lead them to choose another school.

USC can deal with this because they are on a completely different level than PSU. In fact its not even close. Don't use their level of success with only 15 scholarships a year to PSU. Their level of recruits are far higher than what PSU gets.

It's neither - it's a reduction of 10 per year and 20 total per year...

They can't give out more than 15 schollies per year and can't have more than 60 schollie players on the roster.

    That's serious folks.

65 cap, but I see the damage there now.

B10 isn't going to withhold distributions.

USC also had a slimeball who overloaded on scholarships before the penalty was in place, somewhat neutering that penalty.

ok, now I get what the NCAA was saying. Yeah, 65 schollarship athletes will make things pretty tough. The bowl ban will stop them from getting big recruits for the next few years and the schollie limitations will prevent them from having any depth.

Just our luck, PSU goes off our schedule after this year.
